How Do I Start My Transformation ?

It's pretty funny having people come up to me and recognizing me.  But what I notice more than anything else is that people genuinely want help.  They want guidance.  They want direction.  When I hear that I realize that my life has an added new purpose.  My number one reason for getting healthy was for me and my family.  After experiencing failing the medical test and the prospect of not being on the show, it was the first time in my life I had to face my own mortality.  The thought of not being around for my family because of something I could control was just too much for me to comprehend.  I remember praying that if I was given another chance, I was going to make the best of it.  And I did.

Now with knowledge and tools, I want to pay it forward.   I want to help people in need.  Who need guidance.  Who need direction. I want to help you.

Where do you start?  There's so much to tell.  You're ready to go ! Right?

I love the excitement!  I love the enthusiasm!  I wish I could look through the computer right now and see everybody looking back saying "Ok Mike, what's next?"

Believe it or not, the next thing you need to do is take a deep breath. Close your eyes.  Deep breath in,  Deep breath out.  Deep breath in,  Deep breath out.  Regardless of whether you need to lose 5lbs or 220lbs, you need to start with a base.  This is what's going to carry you through your highs and your lows.  And believe me, you'll have both.  Obviously you don't need to lose 220lbs in 9 months.  That's a little "Extreme" !  Ha !!

You need to relax.  Yes, I said it, relax.  I know you're saying to yourself "But Mike, I have to do an hour of cardio and I have to do my resistance training and I have to do this and I have to do that !".  I don't have time to relax.  I don't have time to take deep breaths.  Yes you do.  You have to.  This is going to be the foundation for your transformation.  And guess what else you need to do?  Smile !!  It's contagious.  It makes you feel better.  So smile.  As often as you can.

The key to successful transformation is relaxing, figuring out your purpose, intention, passion.  And Smile !!

My first disclaimer.  I am not a trainer.  I am not a nutritionist.  I am not a boxer (but I play one on tv).  I'm a passionate person who has learned a lot of great lessons from people like Chris Powell, Heidi Powell and others who I will introduce as we get into different aspects of my learning experience and transformation.  Some great people who are also passionate about helping people like me and you.  Together, they worked with Chris and Heidi to help create the transformation of Mike.  But ultimately, it was Mike who was responsible for his transformation.  Just like you will be responsible for your transformation.

Let's get back to relaxing.  Whether it's meditation, self hypnosis, yoga or anything else that can help you get to a place where you can clear your mind, figure out what will be best for you.  If it's just deep breathing, do it.  Do it for at least 5 minutes a day.  You will be amazed what clarity you have when you clear your mind and think of nothing else but your success.  Your transformation begins with your visualization of your success.  See what you look like at the end of your transformation path, visualize yourself fitting into smaller clothes, being able to kill every physical challenge that comes your way.  Feel what it's like to be in the best shape of your life.  Because you deserve it.  And you have to believe you deserve it.

Take that first step.  Visualize !!!  Relax !!  You owe it to yourself.
